Olympia President Dan Solomon Names Jay Cutler His Favorite Bodybuilder
Olympia president Dan Solomon has seen so many bodybuilders come and go throughout his iron sports career. In the video posted by Olympia TV, Solomon named Jay Cutler as his favorite bodybuilder and relived some of the most impressive moments in modern Olympia history.
Jay Cutler reached the pinnacle in the 2000s when he won the prestigious title of best at Mr. Olympia four times in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010. He was involved in one of the biggest bodybuilding rivalries with eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman.
Even though he has already retired from competitive sports, Cutler is by far one of the most iconic bodybuilders. Since retiring, Cutler has been regularly sharing training videos and contributing to bodybuilding, producing sports nutrition.
According to Dan Solomon, there is no other bodybuilder who could inspire others the way Jay did. In a recent video, he named Cutler his favorite bodybuilder of all time.
“Well, this is not a difficult question for me. We got the opportunity to meet many of them. Many of them have changed what we do, but there is one person who stands out to me, and I’m going to tell you why. A name that I’m going to tell you – this is the guy who inspired more athletes to compete today, meaning male bodybuilders, to compete today than any athlete who has ever done it.
According to Solomon, he preferred Cutler to Arnold Schwarzenegger informs BBodybuild.com
“You will be surprised by the answer. It’s not Arnold [Schwarzenegger] because Arnold was an inspiration to previous generations. If you were to conduct a survey, as I ask these questions all the time, if you were to survey hundreds of current male bodybuilders and ask them what bodybuilder inspired them to compete and participate in bodybuilding, you would not hear the answer more often than the name Jay Cutler.
Solomon does not believe that any bodybuilder-inspired athletes like Cutler.
“Jay Cutler for what he has done as an athlete and what he continues to do in his post-competition life. He must be my favorite.”
Solomon on the greatest moment in Olympia history: “In 2006 when Jay did the impossible”
Solomon believes Cutler’s victory over Coleman in 2006 will go down in history as one of the most iconic moments in bodybuilding history.
“The night in 2006 when Jay Cutler did the impossible. Remember, Jay Cutler didn’t just win Mr. Olympia. Jay Cutler defeated Ronnie Coleman. It’s a big difference – the greatest of all time, and he made it on that stage. Jay consistently ranked second year after year. He was the champion everyone was rooting for.”
